DO I HAVE TO COMPLETE THE TRAINING?
Yes, you are required to complete all of the courses assigned to you before the deadline date.
HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE TO COMPLETE THE TRAINING?
You should allow four hours to complete the e-Induction for Doctors, 30 minutes to complete your Local Trust Induction and 20 minutes to complete the Information Governance course.
WHAT WILL MY USERNAME AND PASSWORD BE?
When you login for the first time your username will be your GMC or GDC number. Your password will have been sent to you in an e-mail from this site. Once you have logged in successfully, you will be prompted to change your password.
I HAVE FORGOTTEN MY PASSWORD, WHAT DO I DO?
Click the forgotten password link on the login page and enter your email address. You can then instigate the password reset process which will result in an email being sent to your email address. This email will explain how to reset your password.
WHY IS THE TRAINING COURSE RUNNING SLOWLY
The training courses are highly interactive and require a constant broadband internet connection for the best experience. If your connection speed fluctuates, this may increase the time for videos to begin playing or the speed at which you can access large documents.
DO I NEED TO BE ON THE INTERNET TO COMPLETE THIS ONLINE TRAINING?
This online training requires a constant internet connection. Any loss in connection may result in your progress not being saved. For the best possible experience, a broadband connection is recommended. You can tell when you have completed a module because it will have a blue tick next to it.
CAN I REVISIT THE ONLINE TRAINING AFTER COMPLETION?
Once you have completed the online training, you can freely access each module, as required, and all of the key documents.
CAN I USE MY TABLET TO COMPLETE THE ONLINE TRAINING?
Yes. Most tablets are supported, although you may have to use the tablet in landscape orientation. We do recommend using a PC to complete the training as you will probably find that the easiest device to work at for longer periods.
Please note The original iPAd (iPad 1) is not suited for use with these training courses.
CAN I USE MY SMARTPHONE TO COMPLETE THE ONLINE TRAINING?
Although the eLearning is not specifically designed to run on a smartphone, it is still possible to access it on a smartphone, however you will not benefit from the full user experience.
DO I NEED SPEAKERS OR HEADPHONES FOR THIS ONLINE TRAINING?
The online training features audio and video throughout. For the best experience, speakers or headphones are recommended.
DO I NEED TO COMPLETE THE TRAINING ALL IN ONE GO?
You can complete the training at your own pace. If you exit a module before the end, you will be given the option to be taken back to your last location when revisiting the module. If you do not choose to continue from where you left off, the module will reset your progress and you will be taken back to the start of the module.
WHENEVER I CLICK A LINK IN THE MODULE, THE MODULE RESTARTS?
There is a known bug in the Microsoft Edge browser which causes the page to refresh if an external link is closed down before it is fully loaded. We recommend ensuring that any external links have fully loaded before closing them or switching to an alternative browser.
WHENEVER I CLICK A LINK IN THE MODULE, IT OPENS IN THE SAME WINDOW?
There is a known issue that affects some users running the Safari browser on a Mac. This is down to settings that handle external links, which prevents them from loading in a new window. This can be resolved by going to Safari preferences and, under the tabs section, change the Open pages in tabs instead of windows: to Never.
Alternatively, we recommend switching to an alternative browser which allows links to launch in a new window.
If you are not using the Safari browser ensure that the course is not open in another window after you have launched and then closed a link.
I AM SEEING THE WRONG TRUST NAME APPEARING IN THE TOP RIGHT HAND CORNER OF A MODULE?
If you are seeing the wrong NHS Trust logo appearing in the top right hand corner of a module, along with the wrong Trust Documents appearing in the Documents area, this is often down to incorrect or outdated Trust information in your user profile. Clicking on the NHS logo in the top right hand corner will refresh this from your profile and will update it if it finds newer information. If this does not work and you continue to see incorrect Trust information, please contact your local Trust administrator.
THE TRUST INDUCTION COURSE DOES NOT MATCH THE TRUST THAT I AM JOINING?
Sometimes the information on which doctor is going to which Trust can be changed in the weeks running up to rotation. If when you select My Learning, the training displayed does not relate to the Trust that you are joining, then this will be because your records have not been updated yet.
You can still complete the Information Governance course and you can work through the e-Induction for Doctors course, although the key documents for your new trust will not be shown.
Please contact your trust medical education department to alert them so that you can be assigned the correct Local Trust Induction course.
