If you have any queries regarding the courses assigned to you or your access to this learning platform, then in the first instance you should contact your trust’s medical education department.

Let's make sure that your computer is ready to run the Health Education England eLearning. Please review the QUICK TIPS and table below.

Quick Tips

DISABLE POP-UP BLOCKERS

Disable pop-up blockers because the eLearning needs to open a window to display further content.

USING A TABLET?

We recommend using a PC to complete the online training. If you do want to try your tablet, the experience could vary and in some instances it might not work. It might help to make sure that you are running the latest available version of the operating system and that the device is horizontally oriented. If you are using an Apple tablet, please ensure you are running the latest version of IOS.

USING A SMARTPHONE?

Although the eLearning is not specifically designed to run on a smartphone, it is still possible to access it on a smartphone, however you will not benefit from the full user experience.

USING INTERNET EXPLORER?

Ensure that you have Flash Player VERSION 10.3 or above installed if you are accessing the eLearning from a PC and using Internet Explorer. Use the table below to check.

Recommended Your PC Indicator
Internet Explorer 8 or higher, Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox or Safari

Windows

Microsoft Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, Apple Safari or Google Chrome (latest versions)

Flash player

Flash is a software application that can be used to run eLearning content where it may previously have difficulty running. The experience with Flash can even sometimes be slicker and faster depending on your computer set up. In most cases, the eLearning will detect which version of the course to run so you don't have to worry about it. However, if you find that the course doesn't work correctly, make sure that you have the latest version of Flash by following the below link.

Please note that mobile devices will often not allow the installation of Flash.

You can download the latest version of Flash by clicking here.

Pop-ups

Pop-ups are new windows that 'pop-up' on screen when you click something; for example an internet link. Some browsers now block this from happening as they have been used in the past to display advertisements.

Our eLearning courses need to open a window to display further content. If pop-ups are blocked on your PC, content may not display correctly, and in some cases your progress may not be tracked. For each browser we have provided a guide on how to disable the pop-up blocker.

Internet Explorer

If pop-ups are blocked within your browser, you will typically see a message at the bottom of the screen. Select the Options for this site button and then select Always allow.

Mozilla Firefox

If pop-ups are blocked within your browser, you will typically see a message across the top of the screen. Select the Options button and then select Allow pop-ups.

Google Chrome

If pop-ups are blocked within your browser, you will typically see this icon (Pop-up Blocked) to the right of your address bar at the top of the screen. Click on the icon and then select Always allow pop-ups.

Safari

If pop-ups are blocked within your browser, you will typically see a message on your screen. Go to Settings and then select Safari from the Settings list. Under the General heading disable Block Pop-ups.

Screen size

Screen resolution is the number of pixels (or dots) on the screen at once. The higher your screen resolution, the more screen space you have. The recommended screen resolution for this eLearning is 1280x1024. If you have a screen resolution of less than this, you may not see the whole screen, or you may have to scroll to see the page. If your machine is set to something other than the recommended resolution, you will not be prevented from accessing the eLearning content, although the display may be impaired.

Video

Check that your configuration allows you to view MP4 or video files.

Click play on the video below. If you do not see the video play then please try an alternative computer.
